Kingsgate Darts Club is a friendly darts social club that meets Sunday evenings at Tony's Sports Bar in the Kingsgate neighborhood of Kirkland, WA.
Because we meet at an age restricted location, the only requirement is being 21 years of age or older. Besides that, we welcome folks from all walks of life and skill levels. We have zero tolerance for discrimination of any kind.
Whether you are just curious about the game or a seasoned player, you are welcome to play. Even if you've never thrown a dart, you'll find friendly folks eager to get you started in a low pressure, low stakes environment. We'd never turn down the opportunity to make a new darts player in the neighborhood!
Tl;dr: Soft Tips, on electronic gallery machines.
Tony's Sports Bar has two DartsLive2 machines. These are
tall boxes with competition-sized boards that are back-lit. They have a video screen that displays
game stats, player order, options, etc. The machines keep track of the rules and the scores, so you
can be pretty darn lazy and just have fun playing.
We rotate through various levels of practice play, "party mode" play (non-traditional games like
Monster Hunter crossovers, and Zombie Hunter,) and competitive matches in the '01 and cricket game
varieties.
Tony's Sports Bar supplies stock equipment (darts and tips) sufficient for recreational play, and just getting started. You will benefit from having your own equipment, but you might want to try throwing a few different weights and grips before committing. For that reason, you can start with the stock darts and trying out other people's darts. Most folks will be glad to show off their setups and explain their philosophy on it. Come play first; get darts later.
There are no membership fees, dues, or costs at this time. Darts matches are a dollar per game per person. On a practice night with lots of rounds, we find the average to be about $10 - $12 dollars for the night. Playing between 5pm and 10pm on Sundays at Tony's Sports Bar right now, means happy hour pricing, so a pint and some fries are a pretty good deal.
There is a messaging forum in which communications about the group are available. Organize rides, set up meet times, discuss rules, etc. Join here: Kingsgate Darts Club Google Group
Come down and just say high to anybody playing darts!
